Anna Rae Rachel Thompson, age 101 of Vinita, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 23, 2013. Anna was born on April 13, 1911 in Estella, OK to Russell and Clara (Leforce) Hunt. Anna taught for 35 years at a number of schools before retiring. She enjoyed spending time with family, eating out, reading, and going to social functions. She was one of the ladies responsible for starting the Meals on Wheels program in Vinita. She also served as a Cherry Red at Craig General Hospital for several years. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Vinita where she served as Sunday school teacher in her younger years. She had a loving, giving, heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents Russell and Clara Hunt, brother Dwight Hunt, sister Louis Tyler, and children John Thomas Ramsey, Jr., Mary Sue Ramsey, and Betty Lou Ramsey.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Vinita with Pastor Wade Markham officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
