Betty was born May 17, 1936, in Purcell, Oklahoma, to Walter C. Hudson and Odessa Williams Hudson. Betty grew up in Purcell, Okla., where she attended public schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.
Upon graduating High School, Betty pursued a Cosmetology Degree from Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma. She later married the love of her life, Orbin C. Love, Sr., USAF (retired), where they had eight children (three deceased). After excelling as a homemaker, a hairdresser, and a military wife until her children were of school age, she was then employed by the Muroc Unified School District as a Special Education Teacher's Aide, where she served faithfully for the next 28 years. She retired from Desert High School at Edwards AFB, Calif., in 1996.
Betty's greatest love of her life was serving God, and she served Him wherever He took her in the world. Most specifically she served as a Choir Director, a Musician, a Sunday School Teacher and Church Secretary.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Orbin of 54 years; her children, Berrenda Love-Lewis and (Mark) of Chicago Ill., Orbin C. Love Jr. and (Anna) of Bakersfield, CA., Rev. Kelvin Love Sr. and (Trudy) of Houston, TX, Michele Trapani, of Lancaster, CA., Christina Foster and (Marco), of Albany GA.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
A visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013 at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary in Lancaster, CA., with Funeral Services at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013, at First Southern Baptist Church, Lancaster, CA. Local visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2013 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell, OK.
Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell.
Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, in Purcell. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that donations be made in Betty's memory, to the American Diabetes Association and/or the national Cancer Institute.
