Obituary from the Friday, April 24, 1863 Albany Evening Journal:
"Death of Aged Citizen---Uri Burt, for many years a resident of this city and extensively engaged in the brewing business, died yesterday after a short illness, at the advanced age of seventy-five years. Mr. Burt was a native of New Hampshire, but came to this city in 1814, and has since resided in our midst. He has amassed a large fortune, and has always maintained a business and social position of the highest standing."
The Old Burt Brewery was destroyed by fire on Saturday night, October 9, 1875.
(Note: 1850 and 1860 census shows him as being born in Vermont--which is questionable.)
