Effie lived her early years in the Longview area, moving to Mineola in 1954 where she resided until her death. She was a long-term employee of Schollkopf, retiring in the early 1980s. She looked forward to the company reunions each year.
Effie was a faithful member and deacon emeritus of the First Christian Church in Mineola and a member of the McReynolds Sunday School Class. She was a loving mother, a loyal friend, and was known for her remarkable memory as well as an avid fan of the Texas Rangers.
Effie is survived by sons, Larry Aaron (Loretta), of Gladewater, Wayne Aaron (Teresa), of Tyler; daughter, June Calow (Graeme) of Mineola; sisters, Kathy Nall (Joe), of Longview, and Ada Mae Waldron, of Longview; brother, James Sipes (Pat), of Longview; nine wonderful grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Mineola immediately followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Roselawn Cemetery in Mineola following the funeral. Pallbearers include special friend, David Nichols, and grandsons, Lance Aaron, Todd Aaron, Scott Duncan, Kent Abernathy and Ty Snear.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, 209 N. Pacific, Mineola, 75773.
