Everett Earl "Eddie" Wilson, 62, of Baxter, passed away Sunday (Dec. 11, 2011) in Baxter.

He was born April 27, 1949, in Fairmont, a son of Lois Virginia Fisher Radcliffe and the late Everett Walton Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Linda Lou Ash Wilson.

He attended Fairmont Senior High School. He served in the U.S. Army with two tours in Vietnam, where he was awarded Bronze Star with V Device, Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Award, Good Conduct Medal, and National Defense Medal. He served with Company C Second Battalion 505 Parachute Infantry of 82nd Airborne Division. He retired from Dandy Costal Trucking Transport Co.

Eddie enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, playing guitar, automobiles old and new, visiting friends at I-79 Honda and attending Army reunions. He also served as honor guard at many military funerals and was a member of VFW Post 629. Most rewarding were treasured moments with his beloved grandson, Cody.

He is survived by his mother, Lois Virginia Fisher Radcliffe of Rivesville; son, Dustin James Wilson of Baxter; daughter, Kristyn Lorraine Wilson Palmer of Baxter; grandson, Cody James Wilson of Bellview; sisters, Linda Lee Wilson Gandy and her husband Benjamin A. of Bunner Ridge, and Cynthia Ann Radcliffe Wilmoth and her husband Jim of Rivesville; nieces and nephews, Megan Wilmoth, Benjamin W. Gandy, John P. Corwin and Senate Corwin; and lifelong good friends, Roy "Butch" Thorne of Bellview and Joe Romeo of Fairmont.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lou Ash Wilson; his father, Everett Walton Wilson; his stepfather, Paul James Radcliffe Jr.; and his brother, Paul James Radcliffe.
