Earl K. Tacker, 77, of Bates passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 in Fort Smith. He was born on Dec. 26, 1935 in Tyroanza, Ark. to Andy and Mattie "Cleary" Tacket and was a veteran of the Korean conflict and an oil field driller. Services are Friday at 10 a.m. at the Corners Chapel Baptist Church in Payneway, Ark., with interment at Tyronza Cemetery in Tyroanza, under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Nolan Jane Jarrett; three brothers, Nelson, Buck and Philmon Tacket; and two sisters, Dot Parmenter and Eutha Sherman.
