V.C. "Chick" Young, 39, died suddenly Saturday at 11:30 p.m. at his home, 243 Seventh avenue. Born at Bagley, Ia., March 7, 1904, he was married to Geraldine Dragoo in Marion Jan. 26, 1925. Manager of a service station here the last year, he formerly had been employed by the Linn county highway department.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Betty Decker of Cedar Rapids and Vivian Young; a son, Keith Young; his mother, Mrs. Acie Young; six sisters, Mrs. Ethel Kidwell and Mrs. Ruby Aldrich of Monticello; Mrs. Bonnie Meade, Anamosa; Mrs. Lillian Karal, Fairfax; Mrs. Dorothy Price, Center Point, and Mrs. Eva Burns, Marion; two brothers, Clifford Young, Anamosa, and Master Tech. Sgt. Harold A. Young, Santa Ana, Calif.; and a granddaughter.
Services will be held at the Yocom chapel at a time to be announced later. Friends may call at the chapel.
