Fletcher.
Mrs. Louisa J. Fletcher, daughter of Jonathan and Mary Rohrer, was born September 26, 1843, near Waverly and died at her home in Waverly, Illinois, Sunday, March 10, 1929, at 7:30 a.m., aged 85 years, 5 months and 14 days.
When about 14 years of age, she was converted at Old Brush College church, afterward moving her membership to Rohrer M. E. Chapel where she remained a member the rest of her life.
On July 10, 1862, she was united in marriage to W. F. Fletcher who preceded her in death July 23, 1915. To this union two sons were born who still survive, John a., of Grantsburg, Wis., and Charles L. of this city. There are also seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
No time for a last farewell,
No time for the shock of fear,
Scarcely a moment's halt on the shore
With the Gide and the boatmen near.
Dear, how surprised you were to go,
With little to suffer and little to know.
Only a moment of dark,
A dream of the Fleeting night
And then the beautiful break of day
And the quiet peace of light
And you found yourself where you longed to stand,
In repose of the Fatherland.
Funeral services were held at the residence Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. G. M. Wilson, pastor of the M. E. circuit, officiating, assisted by Rev. Robert N. Montague, pastor of the First M. E. church.
Burial in Waverly cemetery was not until 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, on account of holding the body until the arrival of two grandsons, Carl and William Fletcher, of Mitchell, S. D.
