Mr. Rife was born March 31, 1927, in Bennett, Iowa, the son of Charles and
Ella Steffens Rife. He married Margie Smith Dec. 2, 1950, in Davenport.
He owned and operated Don's Pub, Wilton. He previously farmed in the Atalissa
and Moscow area until 1984. He retired from Oscar Mayer Co. in 1971.
He was a member of Muscatine Moose Lodge and Moline Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He enjoyed stock-car racing, golf and playing cards.
