Born July 24, 1908, in West Chicago, to James and Hanna Lynch, she died Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998, at King Bruwaert House, Burr Ridge. Burial will be private.
Mrs. Fox had been a resident of West Chicago virtually all of her life and was a direct descendant of Peter Baker, whose pre-Civil War home on Prince Crossing has been restored through the generosity of Mrs. Fox and her family. She and her husband, Wayne S. Fox, were also instrumental in the redevelopment of the former Chicago and Northwestern Railroad train station in West Chicago into the Wayne and Helen Fox Community Center.
Mrs. Fox was a member of St.Mary's Church and the Catholic Daughters of America Court 432 of West Chicago. She was also a former member of the West Chicago Garden Club.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne S. Fox; son, David W. ('Mike') Fox of Burr Ridge; granddaughters, Susan (Matthew) McGuire of Hinsdale and Katherine (Ryan) Lanham of Chicago; grandsons, David W. (Alexandra) Fox Jr. of New Canaan, Conn., and Thomas E. Fox of Beaverton, Ore.; brother, Thomas Lynch of West Chicago; sister, Mae Reuland; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
