Marvin Lee Tyus, 47, of Snellville, GA, husband of Megan MacGregor Tyus, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at his residence.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of Laura Drake Tyus of Greenville and the late Marion Edwin Tyus.

Mr. Tyus was employed as a plumber.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Amanda Tyus Hensley and husband, Michael, of Lawrenceville, GA; two sisters, Teresa Tyus Lemoine and husband, Jody, of Lafayette, LA and Heidi Tyus Porter and husband, Joe, of Taylors; and a brother, Marion Edwin Tyus and wife, Vickie, of Loganville, GA; numerous nieces and nephews; and a stepson, Scott Wilkenson of Monroe, GA.

Because of his love for animals, especially cats, memorials may be made to the Greenville Humane Society, 328 Furman Hall Road, Greenville, SC 29609.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family will be at 102 Huntcliff Drive, Taylors.
