Ruth Elizabeth Blandino, 91, formerly of Ben Avon Heights, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Emeritus Assisted Living Facility in Sunrise, FL. Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Al Blandino, and is survived by three children, Michael (Sue) Blandino, Linda (Phil) Powell and Gary (Diane) Blandino, her five grandchildren, Matthew Jedediah, Joseph, Alison, Thomas and Matthew; and her five great-grandchildren, Racheal, Aiden, Luca, Tobey, and Lilly. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Vitas Hospice Nurses for their loving and professional care of Ruth during her final weeks. Friends received Thursday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Orion C.Pinkerton Funeral Home, Inc., 1014 California Ave., Avalon, 412-766-5600. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday 10 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption, Bellevue, PA. Interment to follow at Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery, Pittsburgh. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund, 5430 NW 33rd Ave., Suite 100, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309 or a charity or local hospice of your choice.
