Mustered in as Private on October 23, 1862 to Co. "A," 16th VT Inf
Mustered out August 10, 1863 at Brattleboro, VT

He was living in Barnard, VT when he married his wife, Sarah Almeda (Kinsman) Laird on October 19, 1867 in Stockbridge, VT.

In 1899, he was living on the farm his father had retired from on West Hill when it burned down. Milton died of pneumonia the next day.

It is assumed he is buried here with his family, the marker doesn't actually state so and he's not listed on the cemetery reports.
