ANNA MAE PHILLIPSwent peacefully to be with her Lord on November 9, 2004 after a long and courageous battle with liver cancer. The Lord needed her sweet voice for his choir more than we did. She was a loving wife and mother that will be greatly missed. She gave her life to the Lord at the age of 9 in her home town of Mansville, KY at the Methodist Church. She joined Bayshore Baptist Church on February 6, 1972. She was an active member of the church choir, taught Sunday School for many years, and sang in many Easter and Christmas specials. She worked for the La Porte ISD as a Purchasing coordinator for 21 years. She was a Registered Texas Assessor/Collector and a member of TASBO. At the age of 32, she began taking piano lessons with Mrs. Ernestine Shows in which she achieved 5 national piano gild certificates. Her hobbies were shopping, working in the yard and being with her friends and she loved to travel. Anna always had a song in her heart and always thought of the other person before herself. She made friends very easily and once you were her friend you were always her friend. The family wishes to thank the staff at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for their support during the time Anna was there for treatment. We wish to especially thank Dr. Melanie B. Thomas and Karla Bogaard, R.N. for their support and care. The staff of Vitas Hospice for their wonderful support during Anna's last few days and to the many family and friends that visited, called, sent plants, flowers, cards and food, you are all a blessing to us. She is preceded in death by grandparents, Mose and Ora McDonald; father, Willard Alan Adams; Step-Father, Joe C. Hogan; Father-In-Law, Charlie E. Phillips. She is survived by husband, Charles D. Phillips of 44 years; Son, Christopher D. Phillips of Pearland; daughter, Alana D.
