Edgar J. "E. J." Vittatoe, 88, of Lenoir City went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at his home.

He was a member of Silver Ridge Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a deacon for 53 years. E. J. was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army. He retired from the X-10 Plant in Oak Ridge.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred Vittatoe; children and spouses, the Rev. Jerry and Shirley Vittatoe, Brenda White, Steve and Dale Vittatoe, Lynn and Linda Vittatoe, Vickie and Richard Orr, Kathy and Gary Keener, Kenny and Kelly Vittatoe; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Click Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Scot Wells officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 9:30 a.m. Saturday and proceed to Loudon Co. Memorial Gardens for graveside services at 10 a.m. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.
