CREECH, Edna Mae (Mercer) Was born in Dayton Ohio on May 8, 1925 and passed away on March 22, 2013. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale E. Creech, Sr. on February 28, 2008. She married Dale Sr. on August 8, 1952 and they enjoyed over 55 years together. She is survived by son Dale E. Creech, Jr. and his wife Carolyn, daughter Ginger and her husband Jim Gravell, 4 loving grandchildren and spouses, Justin and Bethany Hill, Ashley and Travis Sisson, Jon Creech and Miranda Creech, extended grandchildren and spouses, Joey and Chay Gravell, Anto and Jennifer Mendoza and 6 great grandchildren, Gina, Jakob and Chloey Gravell and Victoria, Isabel and Alexander Mendoza and her two sister in laws, Geraldine Caplinger and Thayla Mercer. Edna Mae graduated from Fairmount High School and attended Columbia Union College in Washington, D.C. Edna Mae had a radiant smile and because of it was hand picked to serve as the main Receptionist at the front desk at Kettering Memorial Hospital when it opened in 1964, welcoming all who entered there for many years. She entered the job force to help pay for church school for her children - because she strongly believed in Christian education. Her passions included her family, her church and her knitting. Edna Mae made countless baby blankets and socks, most notably the argyle pairs she knitted for Astronaut John Glenn that earned her the front page of the Dayton Daily News in 1962, holding his autographed photo and letter personally thanking her for such a thoughtful gift. She loved her friends and her children's friends and had an open door policy that so many enjoyed. Her house was always filled with love, fun and laughter. Her final wish was that she pass peacefully at home as her husband Dale did and she was able to do that in the care of Hospice and the comforting arms of her family at Dale and Carolyn's home. As Edna Mae requested, there will be no viewing but instead a memorial service to be held later at the Centerville Seventh-day Adventist church. Those friends wishing to remember or honor her may make a contribution in her name to Hospice of Dayton or the Worthy Student Fund at Spring Valley Academy. Edna Mae was a loving, giving person who touched many lives, made a difference in her soft spoken way and by her faith in her Lord and will be missed by so many.
