Son and 1st child of Samuel Dexter and Hannah (Mitchell)(Lapham) Stetson. Married Nellie Silsby on 26 October 1896 at Newbury, VT.
"Nelson attended Hanover Academy for 3 years, learned the carriagemakers trade and later passed the MA State Bord of Pharmacy, practicing his profession for 25 yrs. He built the first drug store in Duxbury, MA. For over 17 yrs he served as Secretary-Treasurer of The Stetson Kindred of America, a kindred organization in Norwell. He had always been interested in the history of the Stetson Family in America, and after his retirement devoted his entire life to this work. Much of the material in The Descendents of Cornet Robert Stetson, publ 1956, is taken from the records he kept. In later years, he resided in Abington and Brockton (Campello) MA."
