Mr. Marshall "Pete" Mitchell, age 84 of Dickson, TN, died March 12, 2013 at his home. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 4pm until 8pm and on Saturday from 1pm until time of service. A funeral service for Mr. Pete Mitchell is scheduled for Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 2pm at the Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Weller officiating. Following the service on Saturday, Mr. Mitchell requested to be cremated and placed at rest in the Weems Cemetery.
Mr. Mitchell was born, March 19, 1928 in Central City, Kentucky. He was a Son of the late, R.W. and Allyn Lovell Mitchell. He proudly served his Country in the U. S. Army during WWII and the Korean War. Between his times of service in the two conflicts, he married Joanne Elkins in 1950. He worked as a regional salesman for over 30 years with Taylor Impression, Inc. He was the owner and operator of Mitchell & Co. where he manufactured printing equipment. He enjoyed being with his family and spending time out on the farm. In addition to his Parents, he is preceded in death by his Brother, Joe E. Mitchell and his Sister, Jean Storie.
He is survived by his Wife of 62 years, Joanne Elkins Mitchell of Dickson; 2 Sons, Marshall Worth "Mike" Mitchell, Jr. and his Wife, Kimberly of Chattanooga, TN, Philip Clint Mitchell and his Wife, Polly of Nashville, TN; 2 Daughters, Patricia Fielding and her Husband, Richard of Mt. Juliet, TN, Lucinda "Cindy" Landis and fiance, Eugene Hintz; 5 Grandchildren, Mallory Mitchell, Lance Mitchell, Levi Fielding, Jamie Jackson, Angela Jackson; 5 Great Grandchildren; Sister-in-law, Patsy Mitchell of Chapel Hill, TN; Several Nieces and Nephews.
