Homer Jeffers, age 80, of Route 2, Oneida, Tenn., died May 10, 1995, at the Scott County Hospital. Born in Oneida, December 23, 1914, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary Chambers Jeffers. He was preceded in death by both of his parents. He was retired from the Union Carbide Corporation and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church for fifteen years. He is survived by his wife Aileen Marcum Jeffers of Oneida; one daughter, Kay Putman and husband, Jim of Houston, Texas; one son, Doug Jeffers of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; four brothers: Aubrey Jeffers and wife, Lucille of Oak Ridge; Ausborn Jeffers and wife, Toots of Clearwater, Florida; Norman Jeffers and wife, Faye of Muncie, Ind., and Lyndol Jeffers and wife, Juanelle of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Charlene Tipton and husband, Melvin of Clinton, Tenn., and Monease Lewis of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted May 11, 1995, at the West-Murley Funeral Home with Rev. Lon Chenowith officiating. Tom Youmans sang. Interment followed May 12, 1995, at the Marcum-Kidd Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Charles Marcum, Freddie Stephens, Wallace Marcum, Jim Putman, Michael LaDue and Mark Walls. West-Murley Funeral Home of Oneida was in charge of arrangements.
