DEATH OF MRS. F. M. VERRY

Sarah Frances Massey, daughter of Hart H. and Margaret Officer Massey, was born near Jacksonville February 12, 1836. In her girlhood she united with the Westminster Prresbyterian church at Jacksonville.

She was married to Henry W. Verry November 28, 1867, and he preceded her to the better world twenty-nine years ago, his death occurring June 9, 1888. To this union were born six children, two of whom preceded her in death, Mary Margaret in 1872 and Theodore Guyler in 1879.

She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Laura Park of Springfield, Hart H., Mrs. Clara Seales and Frances L., all of Waverly; three step-daughters, Mrs. Lela Coper of Forest City, Mrs. Lou Part of Decatur and Mrs. Bird Reed of Miami, Texas; seven grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Laura Breen of Paola, Kansas, one brother, Hart H. Massey of Jacksonville, beside a host of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Verry transferred her membership from the Westminster church to the Congregational church at Waverly and has ever remained a faithful member, always keeping her interest in the activities of the church and attending the services whenever her health would permit.

Though she suffered for many weeks, she bore it all with great patience, and passed away at her home Tuesday, June 26, 1917, aged 81 years, 4 months and 14 days.

The funeral services were held Thursday, June 28, at 2 o'clock p.m. in the Congregational church, Rev. S. C. Schaeffer, pastor of the church officiating. Interment was in East cemetery.
