First burial in Arena Cemetery, reburried between 1950-1954 reburried in Sanford Cemetery.

The Old Arena Cemetery was located in Arena, earlier called Lumberville, and later
flooded to make the Pepacton Reservoir. The graves were removed to the various Cemeteries. The original survey was conducted by Amy De La Gavett about 1947. There were approximately 436 monuments and 48 field stone markers at that time.

Joanna Owen, born July 26, 1840 in Andes, Delaware, NY, daughter of William Owen Jr. (107076392) and Grace Haddow (107263040) and died on June 15, 1858 in Andes, Delaware, NY. She is buried next to her father who drowned in a shipwreck on April 29, 1854.Aislin
