A Mother's Day Rose
At her funeral the eulogy was given by Rev.Vernon Edenfield of Little Ogeechee Baptist Church, Her long time pastor, The following story was told:
Every Mothers day the tradition at her church was for three roses to be given. One rose each to the oldest mother, the youngest mother and the mother with the most children. Our Momma aways got two roses for having been the youngest mother and the mother with the most children. In her later years, she also got a third rose for being the oldest mother.
Being the generous soul she always was ,she would give away two of her roses to the "less fortunate" Mothers.
