The Murray family moved to Follett, Texas when Rowena was in the 7th grade. She enjoyed participating in theater and was chosen to be the lead in her Senior Play "Our Town". She graduated from high school in Follett as Valedictorian. After attending college in Stillwater, Oklahoma, she went to Business College in Chillicothe, Missouri, where she graduated.
On January 5, 1945, Rowena married Kenneth Russell Glasgow. To this union two sons were born. After Kenneth graduated from West Texas State, he took an assistant coaching job in Shamrock, where their first son, Michael Kay, was born. Soon after, they moved to Follett, Texas for a few years where their second son, Jimmy Keith, was born in Perryton. About a year after the birth of their second son they moved to Wichita, Kansas where they lived until 2004 when they moved to Princeton.
She was a member of The Church of Latter-Day Saints. She served faithfully as the District Young Women's President. She worked as an executive secretary and enjoyed pursuing her talents in dance. She took ballet for many years and performed in recitals with her granddaughter Amy.
Rowena was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her sons, Michael Kay and his wife Patricia R. of Texas and Jimmy Keith of California; two grandchildren, Michael Murray Glasgow and Amy Katherine (Glasgow) and her husband Robert Warren Dixon II; and three great-grandchildren, Alyssa Pearl Glasgow, Robert Warren Dixon III and Joshua Kendal Dixon
