Jonathan Ray Mitchell, age 23, resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on March 20, 2013.
Jonathan is survived by his parents, Isaac and Kathy, brothers, Aaron and his wife, Desiree and Benjamin, and his many friends including, Michael Colley (battle buddy), Isaac and Cru Macias, Jesse Dakis, Cory Lamont, Michael Walker and Ian Schwanitz, grandmother, Lillie Mae Alexander and many aunts and uncles, including Mary Mitchell-Carr Duane Carr, Carlotta Mitchell, Sherril Godbolt, Will Godbolt, Joby Wallace, Donald Mitchell, Lawrence Mitchell, Earnestine Mitchell, Ronnie Wallace, Lois Alexander, Betty Alexander, James Alexander, Bobby Alexander, Willie Jones and Georgia Lemmons as well as special cousins including Christin and Dominque Carr and nephew, Prynce Mitchell.
Jonathan was baptized and raised as a Christian.
Jonathan served in the United States Army as an Infantryman in the 25th Infantry Division. Jonathan was deployed to Iraq in 2009-2010. During his service in the United States Army, Jonathan was awarded the following, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd award), Expert Marksmanship Badge with Rifle Bar.
Jonathan was loved by his family, relatives, and friends and will be missed forever.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. with a funeral service to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Strong-Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave., Albuquerque, NM. Interment will be on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 9:45 a.m. at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM.
