Gerald Winston Treme
Gerald Winston Treme, 78 of Sulphur, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013 in his residence.
Mr. Treme was a native of Pine Island, LA but lived most of his life in the DeQuincy area. Winston loved gardening and sharing his produce with family, friends, and neighbors. He was a pipefitter for many years for local industry and was a retiree of Union Pacific Railroad.
Survivors include his daughter Becky Williamson and husband Dennis of Moss Bluff; sons, Mark Treme and wife Mary Anne of Lake Charles, Rev. Neil Treme and wife Leanne of Richmond, VA, Tony Treme, Tim Treme and wife Lynne of DeQuincy; two step-daughters, Tammy Hentzen and husband Patrick of Flower Mound, Tx, and Darlene Heavin and husband Gary of Chester OK; two brothers, Willard Treme of DeQuincy and Winfred Treme of El Campo, TX; 11 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mr. Treme is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Elda Treme, his wife and mother of his children, JoAnn Koonce Treme and his second wife Bronis Dickerson Treme, grandchildren, Rachel Williamson and Timothy Paul Treme.
Funeral services will be at 10:00a.m. on Friday March 22, 2013 at Hixson Snider Funeral Home Chapel in DeQuincy, with the Rev. Neil Treme officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-9:00p.m. Thursday, and from 9:00a.m. till the time of the service on Friday. Burial will be in Royer Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Snider Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, 3806 Monument Ave., Richmond, VA 23230 or the charity of one's choice.
