GEORGE ROSCOE COOK, 73, 9857 Sixth Ave., Orlando, died Tuesday, Sept. 30. Mr. Cook was a retired government mining inspector. Born in Virginia, he moved to Central Florida in 1977. He was Baptist. He was a member of American Legion and Bahia Shrine Temple, Orlando. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Harlan, Ky. Survivors: sons, Billy, Gary, both of Harlan, Ronnie, Bledsoe, Ky., Bobby, Danny, Tommy, David, all of Orlando; daughters, Freda Potts, Springfield, Ohio, Georgia Coots, Cumberland, Ky., Louanna Hermann, Reno, Nev., Jawana Green, Rosalind Cornish, Mary Estep, Mildred Griffin, all of Orlando; 32 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. George was the son of Thomas G. & Elizabeth "Betty" (Cloud) Cook. He was born March 23, 1924 in Blue Bonny, VA. He passed away September 30, 1997 in Kissimmee, FL. He was buried in Evarts Memorial Gardens Kildav in Harlan County, KY. He was married to Mildred (Small) Cook.
