Daniel was born in Beacon on Feb. 10, 1921, to Esther Griffiths and Thomas Lloyd.
After graduating from high school he served his country during World War II in the Navy. He then worked for the CMSTP & P Railroad from 1946-61 and for John Morrell and Company from 1961 until his retirement in 1986. Daniel was a 50-year Mason and a member of the Southgate Masonic Lodge. He also enjoyed wood carving.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean; sons, John, Thomas and David; grandchildren, Heather, Adrienne, Samuel, Bryan, Erica and Shelby; and great-grandson, Kayden.
Per his request, he will be cremated, and no services are planned. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Norwalk Volunteer Fire department. Hamiltons Funeral Home.
