Melvin LeRoy Walker Mar. 26, 1935 - Mar. 19, 2013 Mr. Melvin LeRoy Walker, 77, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at his home. He was born March 26, 1935 in Davie County to Simon Phillip Walker and Bertha Nezat Walker. Mr. Walker was the owner and operator of Walker Floor Sanding and Finishing Company since 1954. He was a member of Hope Moravian Church and attended Immanuel Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Mr. Walker was loved and respected by all his family, friends and business associates. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Miller Walker; one son, Melvin LeRoy "Bo" Walker, Jr. and seven loving sisters. Surviving are two daughters, Anna Walker of Winston-Salem and Carla Webb (Mike) of Lewisville; four grandchildren, Christa Keen, Marie Peele (Dave), Michael Moody and Zachary Walker; six great grandchildren, Jesse, Jonah and Landon Keen, Kaylyn and Gage Peele and Caleb Moody; one sister, Lee Orrell (John) of Winston-Salem and one brother, Wilson Walker (Virginia) of Pfafftown and loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013 at Hope Moravian Church with Pastor L.C. Taylor, Pastor Andrew Heil and Pastor Bob McCaskill officiating. Interment will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
