Mr. Willie Gene Benson
Willie "Gene" Benson transitioned to his new home in heaven on May 20, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Juanita Benson.
A life-long resident of Aiken County, Gene was the son of the late Juanita and Ervin Benson. Children were Patricia (Wayne) Moseley, Judy (David) Wright, Dana (Fred) Harpley, Robin (Rob) Blevins. Grandchildren, were, Ryan (Jeannette) Moseley, Jeanna (Thomas) Harrell, Jill (Scott) Wickware, Tyler Harpley, Zack (Lauren) Wright and four great grandchildren, Stella, Caleb, Cameron and Steven.
He was a retired mill worker at United Merchants for 42 years and the book keeper at the Langley Church of God for twenty seven years in which he was also a member for more than sixty years. He enjoyed fishing and reading his Bible. He will be remember for his dedication to his children, grandchildren, and his devotion to his church life.
The family will receive friends and condolences on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m at the Langley Church of God on the #1 Aiken, Augusta Hwy, Graniteville, SC followed by the Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. at Langley Church of God. Interment will follow at the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Bath, SC. Pastor Benny E. Burton officiating.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Bragg, Harold Maness, Tim Stevens, Wayne Holland, Donald Boyd and Bobby Shackleford.
