Max was preceded in death by his parents, David Almon and Mary Adeline Johnson; two brothers; five sisters; one grandson; and one great-grandson; and his second wife, Connie.
He is survived by one sister, Thelma Dalton; children, Joe Dee Johnson, Brad Johnson (Deanna), Mary Ann Lyautey (Leslie), Pamela James (Mike) and Daniel Johnson; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Max was passionate about gardening, loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He loved serving his family and neighbors.
A funeral service for Max was held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Aztec, N.M.
Spanish Valley Mortuary in Moab transported Max to services held in Moab on Feb. 18. He was interred in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Moab
