Funeral services for Mrs. Lela Mae Phillips Birdwhistell, 78, sister of Mrs. Denton Montgomery of Salvisa, who died Tuesday, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Gordon-Gash Memorial Chapel in Lawrenceburg.
Mrs. Birdwhistell died at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home after an illness of four months. She lived on Mike St. and was the widow of William H. Birdwhistell.
The Rev. Bob Jones and the Rev. Malcolm Lunceford will conduct the services with burial in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel.
Mrs. Birdwhistell was a native of Anderson County, a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church and daughter of the late Claude and Myrtle Duncan Phillips.
Other survivors include one son, Harold Birdwhistell, Sheriff of Anderson County; three grandchildren, five sisters and three brothers.
