Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Eleanor M. Winter who died at the St. Benedict's Senior Community on Tuesday. Friends and relatives may call after 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the church. Reverend Lloyd Haupt and Reverend Alan Wielinski will co-celebrate. Burial will be in Assumption Mausoleum.
Eleanor was born in Spring Hill to the late Michael and Theresa Athmann Wander. She married Ernest J. Winter on January 29, 1949 at Nativity of Our Lord in St. Paul, MN. She and Ernest Lived in St. Paul for many years and then moved to St. Cloud in 1977. Eleanor was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of Daughters of Isabella.
She is survived by her son, John ""Jack"" Denise Winter of Inver Grove Heights, MN; grandchildren, Sarah and Jeff; brother, Al Janette Wander of Elrosa; and sisters, Lorraine Schwieters of New Munich, Monica Barten of Spring Hill and Anna Mae Lensing of Greenwald.
She was preceded in death by her 4 brothers, Alfred, Chris, Edwin and Raymond.
