Iowa-Michael Lee Tyree, Sr., 55, passed away in a work related helicopter crash near Grand Lake, LA on Friday, March 15, 2013.

Michael was born October 8, 1957 in Martin's Ferry Ohio to John David and Ruby White Tyree. He was a graduate of Fonda-Fultonville Senior High School. He graduated from Allan Hancock College. Mike was a member of the United States Air Force. He was employed by Era Helicopters. Mike worked in the aviation industry for over twenty years. Mike was an avid New Orleans Saints fan who truly was a devoted husband and loving father.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Anita Broussard Tyree of Iowa; son, Michael Lee Tyree, Jr. and wife, Brittany of Lake Charles; daughter, Ali Tyree and companion, Ben Byrd of Carlyss; sisters, Marty Field of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Trisha Johnson and husband, Roger of Johnstown, New York; 2 grandchildren, Kinsey and Jaeb Byrd; 10 nieces and nephews; 5 great nieces and nephews. Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby White Tyree; his father, John David Tyree, and his siblings, J. David Tyree, III and Claudia Mae Tyree.

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa with Monsignor Charles DuBois officiating. Visitation is Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation is under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home.
