Nellie Hutchison Eads was born at New Madrid, MO on October 26, 1872. Her father James Hutchison passed away when she was young and her mother placed her at the Ursuline Boarding School for girls at Arcadia, MO when she was 12 years old, while here, she changed her given name "Liza" to Nellie, which she had the rest of her life, she was at the Ursuline Boarding School for approximately 2 years. Nellie had no brothers or sisters and knew nothing about the Hutchison family. Her mother Fanny Thompson Hutchison was remarried to Daniel Moss. When she was 16 she married Spencer Andrew Eads on June 28, 1888. 10 children were born to this union: Guy E. Eads, Glen Hugh Eads, Grace Elenor Eads, Claude Roy Eads, Ralph Eads, George Eads, Della and Stella Eads (twins), Clinton Chester Eads, Spencer Andrew Eads, Jr.
