John Earl Wrenn, 74, of Ragan Rd., Hurdle Mills, died Monday, March 18, 2013. Born in Person County, Mr. Wrenn was the son of the late Charlie and Edna Mooney Wrenn and husband of the late Lydia Jane Wrenn.
Mr. Wrenn retired from Coca-Cola and was a member of Clement Baptist Church having served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent. He was also a member of the Lions Club and former president of the ARC.
Mr. Wrenn is survived by his wife, Hazel Poole Wrenn; three children, Wayne Wrenn and wife Sherry and Malinda Wrenn Davis and husband Ricky, all of Hurdle Mills and L. "Duck" Wrenn, of Roxboro; four step-children, Brenda Saunders and husband "Buck" and Ann Warren and husband Earl, all of Roxboro, Danny Oakley and wife Nancy, of Ringgold, VA and Robert Oakley and wife Georgia, of Roxboro; one brother, Louis Wrenn and wife Sonya, of Hurdle Mills; his sister-in-law, Billie Ragan, of Liberty; four grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren; and his caregiver, Teresa Deese.
Funeral services will be held 2PM, Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Clement Baptist Church by the Rev. Joel Bradsher and the Dr. Ben Gault. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with the Dr. Fred Lowery and the Rev. Johnnie Smith officiating.
