EVELYN B. SAND

Evelyn B. Sand, age 80, of 10513 Tannery Road, town of Two Rivers, died on Wednesday evening, July 16, 2008, at Aurora BayCare, Green Bay.

Evelyn was born on Feb. 9, 1928, in the town of Luxemburg, daughter of the late Rudolph and Milda (Zuege) Hanamann.

On June 19, 1948, Evelyn married Joseph Barrette at St. John's Lutheran Church in Luxemburg. He preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 1969. Evelyn then married Henry Sand on Nov. 15, 1969, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 2005.

Evelyn was employed as a wood finisher, and later as a supervisor at Hamilton Industries for 39 years, retiring in 1990.

She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and going to casinos with Paul, Helen and Ethel. She was a member of the Bertler Dancing Club/ Card Club for a number of years. Evelyn loved her grandchildren, and the expected arrival of her great-grandchildren, and her dog, Tanner. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She was also preceded in death by one brother: Marvin Hanamann; brothers-in-law: Clarence, Raymond and Elmer Sand; Ralph Bertler; Richard Dedow; Charles Gesser; and a sister-in-law: Gladys Gesser.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2008, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. David Arndt, with Entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum, Highway 310, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers, from 4 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday morning, July 21, 2008, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Two Rivers, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
