Eleanor G. "Sis" (Haines) McCombie, 84, of Uniontown, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, at the Sunshine Estates Personal Care Home, in Connellsville. She was born Nov. 22, 1928, in Connellsville, daughter of Charles Edward and Myrle (Grindle) Haines. Her parents and her sisters, Arlene M. Sommers, and Audrey Miller, preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband, Kenneth E. McCombie; their children, Bruce E. McCombie, of Atlanta, Ga., and Amy L. McCombie-Shelson, of Bryantown, Md.; her sister, Geraldine R. Comforti, of Connellsville; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express special thanks to the nurses and caregivers of Sunshine Estates Personal Care Home, and also Amedisys Hospice, for their excellent and compassionate care. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 20, 2013, and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, in STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown. Pastor Ray Keefer will officiate. Interment will be privately held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
