Patricia Barnes
ORD Patricia Barnes, 70, of Ord died Easter Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Valley County Nursing Home at Ord.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ord Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Peyton officiating. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery.
Ms. Barnes was born on Easter Sunday, April 1, 1934, on the family farm five miles north of Ord to Ellis James "Pete" and Marie (McGuire) Barnes.
Survivors of the immediate family include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Greg and Joanne Beaver of Buffalo, Minn., and Ted Knight of Minneapolis; a daughter and son-in-law, Shiela and Mike Prieve of Minneapolis; a sister, Margaret Nelson of Ord; and six brothers, Gerald, Darrel, Don, Earl, Larry and Bobby.
Also surviving are two granddaughters, Kristen Gorian and Erica Willprecht, and four great-grandchildren, Carter, Trinity, Jeremiah andTroy.
Patricia and her family settled in the Central City area. She graduated from Central City High School.
Following high school, Patricia moved to Omaha, where she married John Paul Knight of Omaha in 1957. Later she lived, worked and raised her family in Iowa, Missouri and Minnesota. In 2003 Patricia returned to Ord, where she lived at Grandview Assisted Living.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Helen Geisenhagen.
Memorials may be given to the American Lung Association.
