Freda Myrtle Hovis, 91, of 11 N. Clifton Drive in Williamsport, Md., died Monday, March 18, 2013, at Julia Manor Nursing Home.

Born March 3, 1922, in Garfield, Md., she was the daughter of the late Reuben W. and Bessie Mae Kendall Smith.

She was employed by Hagerstown Shoe Co., retiring in 1975.

She was a former member of Christ Fellowship Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by one brother, Merle Smith of Smithsburg, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five sisters,
Edna Green,
Pearl Toms,
Mary Rigger,
Evelyn Fox and
Hilda Brown; and
three brothers,
Nelson Smith,
Floyd Smith and
Donald Smith.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Md. The Rev. Ronald Kurtz will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Foxville, Md.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
