James C. "Jim" Perkins, 89, of Barney School Road, Campbellsville, died at 4:45 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997 in Lebanon. Son of the late Lewis Perkins and Eliza Cheatham Stubbs Perkins, he was born in Taylor County, Nov. 30, 1907. Perkins was a member of Tallow Creek United Methodist Church and was a farmer. He was married to Violet Rice Aug. 4, 1934, who survives. Besides his wife, Perkins is survived by three sons, Carl Perkins, Herbert Lee Perkins, and Robert P. Perkins, all of Campbellsville; eight grandchildren, Sheila Tedder of Shepherdsville, Shirley Wood, Mistie Perkins, David Benningfield, Ashley Perkins, Mary Mattingly, and Cindy Sharp, all of Campbellsville, and Jamie Perkins of Miami, Fla.; eight great-grandchildren, Mitchell Wright, Dusty Mattingly, Robert Rainwater, Justin Rainwater, and Dallas Wood, all of Campbellsville, and Robbin Tedder, Elizabeth Maddox, and Adrian Maddox, all of Shepherdsville; one brother, Ralph Perkins of Indianapolis, Ind.; several nieces and nephews; and several other relatives. He was also preceded in death by one son, Shirley Gene Perkins on Feb. 1, 1941; one granddaughter, Robbin Jean Perkins on July 23, 1983; and three sisters and four brothers, Hettie Gribbins, Myrtie Landers, Elizabeth Edwards, Clarence Perkins, Riley Perkins, Ralston Perkins and Louie Perkins. Funeral was at 3:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 24 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Charles Harris. Burial was in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris Corbin, James T.
