Earl. W. Scott, 68, a former Liberal resident died Friday morning at his home in Colorado Springs. Mr. Scott had been in ill health for several years, but his death was unexpected.
He was born December 26, 1897, at Pratt, coming to Seward county with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Scott, to a farm northwest of Liberal as a small boy, where he grew to manhood.
A custom butcher, Mr. Scott was employed here by Ragsdale's for a number of years until moving to Colorado Springs in 1952. Mr. Scott retire in 1962 because of his health.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Earl William Scot, Jr. Colorado Springs, Charles M. Scott, Garden Grove, Calif, and John Ray Scott, U. S. Navy; seven daughters, Mrs. Dennis Rokeh, Security, Colo., Mrs. Devane Brune, Limon, Colo., Mrs. Kennith Trimmell, Liberal, Mrs. Leon Ogletree, Turpin, Okla., Mrs. Jerry Manley, Security, Colo., Mrs. Troy Anderson, Chickamauga, GA., and Mary Scott of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hoskinson, Blythe, Calif., and Mrs. Eva. Stroud, Boise City, Okla,; four brothers, Jack Scott of Bucklin and Paris, Claude and Archie Scott of Liberal; 22 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p. m.. Monday from the Miller Chapel. Burial will be in the Liberal Cemetery.
