The funeral for Kathy Plummer will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rochester, with Father Paul Nelson officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester following the funeral. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM to 8:00PM on Monday, March 11th 2013 at River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Kathleen Theresa Plummer (Kathy), 71, of Rochester, Minn., formerly of Detroit, MI, died the evening of Wednesday, March 6th 2013 with her family by her side.

Kathy was born August 16th, 1941 in Detroit, MI to Bernard O'Rourke and Dolores (Burns). She graduated from Our Lady of Mercy in Detroit in 1959. On September 9th, 1961 she married Kenneth V. Plummer and they enjoyed 51 years together. She started work in retail sales and later went to Rochester Area Vocational-Technical Institute and graduated in 1983. She then worked as a nursing assistant at Methodist Hospital. She loved to volunteer at St. Pius X Catholic Church as a religious education teacher, a greeter, and was a Eucharistic minister both in the church and to the home bound. In the community, she enjoyed being a bell ringer for The Salvation Army and helped with the Community Food Response.

She is survived by her husband, her two sons, Kenneth (Marsha) Plummer of Rochester, MN and Kevin (Karen) Plummer of Burnsville, MN; four grandchildren – Nicolas, Jonathan, Kaitlyn and Amy; and one great-granddaughter, Emma. She is also survived by her three sisters; Sharon, Mary Kay and Ellen and a brother, Daniel. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, and her sister Rita.

Kathy loved to travel, read and spend time with her grandchildren and her dog, Murphy.

Memorials are preferred to the Lourdes High School Building Fund or the St. Pius X Building Fund.
