Ronald Dwayne "Wayne" Darby, age 50, of Washington, Iowa died Tuesday, June 07, 2011 at his residence following a sudden illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Jones Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Darryl Carr officiating. Visitation will be held at the Jones Eden Funeral Home beginning noon Saturday where the family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 Saturday afternoon. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. Memorials have been established for the American Cancer Society.

Wayne was born January 20, 1961 in Long Beach, California the son of Harold G. and Artie (Jordan) Darby. He graduated from Sierra High School in Whittier, California. Wayne moved to Washington, Iowa in 1996.

He worked in retail most of his life. He worked at Orschlen Farm and Home Supply until 2010. He liked to metal detect and buy & sell items on ebay. He loved fishing, camping and mostly he loved spending time with his family.

Wayne is survived by his father, Harold Darby of Washington, Iowa; sister Diane Wellington and husband Dan of Washington, Iowa; brother Mike Darby and wife Carrie of Moreno Valley, California. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Gary Darby of Georgia; Harold Dean Darby of New Jersey; Mike, Mark and Kristy Darby of Moreno Valley, California; Jonathon Darby of Iowa City, Iowa; Cassie Cordova of Washington, Iowa; Tyler Lynch of Iowa City, Iowa; great nephew Conner Darby of Moreno Valley, California; and great nieces Michalynn, Mireya and Lola Diaz of Washington, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his mom Artie F. Darby on May 11, 2003 and one brother Harold Dean Darby.
