He was a native of Bulloch County and a member of Harmony Baptist Church near Statesboro.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bessie M. Rich of Metter; a son, George Rich of Pompano Beach, Fla.; two stepsons, Joseph Rich of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Hollis Moffett of South Bend, South Bend, Ind.; two daughters, Beatrice Mercer of Valdosta and Miss Linda Rich of Metter; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Shirley Moore of Metter; and 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday at Harmony Baptist Church near Statesboro, with burial in the church cemetery.
Payton's Mortuary of Statesboro is in charge.
