Erica Noel Smith, 14 of Hilliard, Florida went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 16, 2013 as a result of a tragic accident. Erica was born December 15, 1998 to Brandon and Deanna Smith. She was an eighth grade student at Hilliard Middle-Senior High School. A bright and beautiful young lady, Erica loved being around her friends and making everyone laugh. She was known to brighten up a room with her smile and silly laugh. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time in the woods with her daddy hunting and fishing. Spending time with her family was a priority and she especially enjoyed their many camping trips. Her love for life was evident as she had a great passion for young children and animals. Erica is survived by her parents Brandon and Deanna Smith, two sisters Emmalee and Elena and a brother, Nickolas; grandparents Darrell ‘Rodney' Moody of Callahan, Mary Cumbie of Jacksonville, Wallace Smith of Folkston and Virginia Smith of Hilliard; a great-grandmother Bernice Gee of Callahan; two aunts Beverly (Scott) Hand and Amanda (Ben) Proffit both of Hilliard; cousins Kory and Kylee Bryant, Scotty Hand, and Olivia and Levi Proffit all of Hilliard as well as a large extended family of great aunts, uncles and loving friends. Erica was predeceased by her great-grandparents King Gee, Gara and Ema Lou Moody and James W. and Maggie Lee Johnson and an uncle, Bryan Hopkins. The family will accept visitors Thursday, March 21 from 6-8 p.m. at River Road Baptist Church in Hilliard. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 22 at 2 p.m. also at River Road Baptist Church. Internment will follow at Jones Cemetery in Callahan. Serving as pallbearers will be "Uncle Jody" Pickett, Kory Bryant, Scott Hand, Ben Proffit, Levi Proffit, Anthony "Bubba" Nutty, Joseph Nutty and Charles "Buddy" Revill.
