Thomas (Tommy) Newsome, 47, of 408 W. North College St. Yellow Springs, a village police patrolman, was dead on arrival at Greene Memorial Hospital early Wednesday morning.
Offical at GMH timed Mr. Newsome death at 4:30 a.m. by the Yellow Springs rescue squad following a heart attack.

The son of Leroy and Dora Mae Adams Newsome, he was born May 1930, in Yellow Springs.
Survivors include is widow, four sons, Brent of Yellow Springs, Bryan, Brad, and Barrett, all at home; a daughter, Belinda, a student in Indianapolis Ind; brother Randall, all of Yellow Springs.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Central Chapel, AME, Yellow Springs, The Rev. James Walls will officiate.
Visitation will be at Jackson, Lytle and Coffman Funeral Home, 322 Xenia Ave., Yellow Springs, from noon Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday. The body will lie in state at the church from noon until service time Saturday.
