Miss Mary Elizabeth Morgan of Biscayne Park, Fla., a native of Lanett, Al. died Saturday at her residence in Biscayne Park.

Services were held Sunday at 3p.m. at the Joseph B. Cofer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Elwood Lodge officiating.

Miss Morgan is survived by one brother, Malvern Morgan Jr. and one sister, Mrs. Louise Morgan Kent, both of Lanett.

Miss Morgan was a resident of Biscayne Park for 26 years. She was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church in Moultrie, Ga. She was a graduate of Auburn University, a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Cardinal Key Honorary societies and served as president of the WSGA at Auburn. She received her masters from Peabody College. She was a member of the United Teachers of Dade County, Fla. and Retired Teachers Association. She was a physical education teacher at Henry H Filer Junior High School in Hialeah, Fla. until she retired in Febuary, 1983. She was honored by Dade County as the Teacher of the Year 1981 at Henry Filer Junior High School. In June 1983, an annual award, the Mary Morgan Excellence in Physical Education Award was created in her honor.

For those wishing to make memorials, a scholarship has been established in Miss Morgan's memory. Memorials may be addressed to Filer Junior High School, 531 West 29th Street, Hialeah, Fla., or Dade County School system Mary Morgan Scholarship Fund, 630 Northeast, 117th Street, Miami, Fla. 33161.
