February 27, 1918, Leonard and Miss Grace Henry were united in marriage. This union was blessed with three children. Nearly all of his life was spent in the Cozad area. Leonard was a member of the Cozad Church of Christ.
Mr. Applegate was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Grace; on son Wendell of Cozad; two daughters Mrs. Vern White of Cozad and Mrs. john C. Johnson of Lexington, Nebraska; six grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd Applegate of North Platte Nebraska and Clyde Applegate of Cozad; nieces, nephews and friends.

COZAD—Leonard F. Applegate, 74, a retired farmer who had been a lifetime resident of the Cozad community, died at his home early this morning.
Survivors include his wife Grace of Cozad, one son, Wendell Applegate of Cozad, two daughters, Mrs. Vern White of Cozad and Mrs. john C. Johnson of Lexington, two brothers, Lloyd Applegate of North Platte, and Clyde Applegate of Cozad, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled at the Church of Christ in Cozad Thursday at 2 p.m. with Ed Maertens officiating. Internment will be in the Cozad Cemetery with the Berryman Funeral Home of Cozad in Charge of arrangements.

Leonard Francis Applegate, 74, retired farmer and lifetime area resident, died about 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at his home at 812 Avenue F.
Mr. Applegate was born Aug. 19 1890 in Cozad and had lived near here all of his life.
Survivors include the widow of the home, Mrs. Grace Applegate; on son, Wendell Applegate, 602 East fifteenth; two daughters, Mrs. Vern White, Cozad and Mrs. John C. Johnson, Lexington; two brothers, Lloyd Applegate, North Platte an Clyde Applegate of Cozad and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13, in the Cozad Church of Christ. Rev. Ed Maertens will officiate.
Pallbearer will be Bernard Spradlin, Ralph Benjamin, Elton Griffis, Howard love, Milton McLaughlin and Larry McLaughlin. A quartet composed of Charles Berryman, sr., Charles Berryman Jr., Max Bourn and Kent Liehtenwalter will provide the music accompanied by Mrs. Ed Maertens organist.
Internment will be in the Cozad Cemetery. The body is at the Berryman Funeral Home.
