Martin Michniewicz and Adam Pogozelski (also spelled Pogorzelski)
Born Antonina "Antonet" Dembowski, she was born in Lubowa, Suwałki District Poland/Russia to Andrew and Marianna Dembowski. She immigrated to the USA in 1895-96 and became a US citizen in 1910. Antonet was married to Adam Pogo(r)zelski who was born Dec.31,1867 in Augustav, Eastern Poland. She was widowed after giving birth to Adam's 6 children Anthony"Duke", John"Zeno", Joseph, Constancia"Connie", Pelagia"Pearl" and Anela"Elsie". Adam died 29 April 1911 in Mt.Carmel of Miners Asthma (black lung) due to his time in the coal mines. Antonet then married Martin Michniewicz and had one more child, Anna Michniewicz. Martin acted as father to all of Antonet's younger children(the girls), raising them as his own. Anna never had any children, but the other girls children knew him as Pop instead of Dziadek because Pop is what Anna called him. The grandchildren knew Antonet as Busia (not Babcia as some grannies were called).
