John Oscar Emerson, 35, of 315 East Spring street, died at 4:49 a.m. Monday. He had been in failing health for the past four and one-half years. Mr. Emerson was born on Oct. 9,1916, in Oil City, a son of Richard Emerson of Grand Valley and the late Mrs. Alta Seeley Emerson. He married Arlene Metzger on Nov. 7, 1937, in Tionesta.

He was a member of the Titusville Free Methodist Church. Prior to his illness he had been a driller in the oil fields in Layne, NY.

Besides his wife and father, Mr. Emerison is survived by two children, Donald and Jacquelyn, at home; a sister, Mrs. John Barressi of Dunkirk, NY; five brothers, Robert Emerson of Grand Valley, Ivan Emerson of Titusville, Route 2, William, Charles and Howard Emerson, all of Centerville....

Interment will be in Troy Center Cemetery.
